En lo más profundo del corazón de los bosques junto al Darién, donde los rayos del sol apenas se filtran entre las espesas ramas, se encuentra enclavada una comunidad indígena Embera en Luz del Mundo, Antioquia. Es aquí, en este rincón sagrado, íntimo y ancestral, donde la valiente Morelia asume el título de gobernadora recién elegida. Como un huracán que intenta desviar su curso, Morelia se enfrenta a la resistencia masculina y a la vez a los ecos de un pasado doloroso, que le atormentan en cada paso que da. Pero en un giro inesperado, surge un desafío mayor: Una niña de apenas 13 años, víctima de la coerción de sus propios padres, desaparece sin dejar rastro después de ser obligada a casarse con su profesor. En medio del desconcierto y la incertidumbre, Morelia se adentra en una carrera contrarreloj, decidida a encontrar a la niña antes de que sea demasiado tarde.
