Natalia Pinilla, fotógrafa y activista, en camina un viaje que cruza Santander, Norte de Santander y España-Madrid para descubrir la obra de Amalia Ramírez, una mujer olvidada que, a comienzos del siglo XX, capturó una de las imágenes más impactantes de la historia colombiana: la pirámide de calaveras de Palonegro, símbolo brutal de la Guerra de los Mil Días. Más de un siglo después, esta fotografía resurge y posiciona a Amalia como la primera fotógrafa del país. En el camino, descubre archivos inéditos que conecta con descendientes que desconocían su legado y encuentra en otras mujeres fotógrafas un eco contemporáneo de su lucha. Entre revelaciones históricas y encuentros íntimos, el documental reconstruye no sólo la obra de Amalia, sino también la memoria de un país marcado por la violencia. El hallazgo de sus fotografías retratos, escenas cotidianas y testimonios visuales olvidados— transforma su figura en un símbolo de resistencia, arte y memoria.
