Tomando la Passacaglia op. 22 del compositor barroco Biagio Marini como punto de partida -y con la pantalla dividida en tres-, el rostro y el cuerpo de mujeres iluminadas por el fuego pone en palabras un lamento colectivo. La letra de una canción popular ucraniana propone preguntas y respuestas: “¿Por qué vivimos? / Los muertos no pueden responder”. El contrapunto audiovisual entre las cantantes concluye con la irrupción de un material de archivo tan misterioso como cautivante. Pedro Costa explora territorios nuevos en esta obra que él mismo definió como la probable semilla de un próximo largometraje.
